Inverurie Library has a purpose built Library Resource Centre which is staffed by a professional librarian and library assistants. The aim of the library is to support the teaching of the curriculum and to cater for the individual needs of both staff and pupils ensuring that a wide range of relevant resources is available and by providing instruction in the techniques of enquiry and research. The librarian works closely with teaching staff and is actively involved in the promotion of reading and in preparing learning skills programmes. From their first year in school, pupils are taught how to select and utilise relevant resources, and by the time they leave school at the end of sixth year they will also be familiar with the extensive collection of careers material and will be able to access resources from other libraries as well as from a wide range of ICT resources. The library has fifteen networked computers which are all linked to the Internet.  Computers are available for pupil use via a booking system in the library. The atmosphere of the library is friendly and welcoming and a level of discipline is maintained to ensure a positive learning experience for all. The library runs a number of lunchtime clubs, which are open to all pupils.
